Poplaw, Blackwall and District Rowing Club
|Address:||Poplar, Blackwall and District Rowing Club: The Boat House, Ferry Street, London, E14 3DT|
|Comments:||Established in 1845, the Poplar, Blackwall and District Rowing Club is one of the oldest rowing clubs in England. The club regularly rows the 7.5 mile stretch of River Thames from Greenwich to London Bridge as well as Royal Albert Dock’s 2,000m multi-lane course, one of few of its kind in the United Kingdom. These routes are ideal training preparation for regattas and races throughout the summer.
The Poplar, Blackwall and District Rowing Club is located opposite the Royal Naval College and next to the beautiful Island Gardens. It has a splendid view across the Thames at Greenwich Reach including Wren’s Naval Academy, the Royal Observatory, and the Millennium Dome.
